11月1日，第七次全國人口普查正式開啟現場登記，700多萬普查人員走入千家萬戶，登記普查信息。自上世紀90年代以來，中國每10年進行一次全國人口普查。

China started its seventh national population census¹ on Nov 1, with about 7 million census takers going door to door to document demographic information. China has conducted a national population census every 10 years since the 1990s.

 

要通過這次人口普查查清我國人口數量、結構、分布等方面情況，把握人口變化趨勢性特征，為完善人口發展戰略和政策體系、制定經濟社會發展規劃、推動經濟高質量發展提供準確統計信息支持。

We should get a good understanding of the population's size, structure and distribution through the census, and the census is expected to map demographic changes and provide accurate statistical² information for the improvement of China's population development strategy and policy, the creation of economic and social development plans and the promotion³ of high-quality development.
